Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems is a warm, trauma-informed approach that helps you get to know the different sides of your internal world with curiosity and compassion. By understanding the parts of you that handle stress, judgment, or anxiety, we can quiet inner conflict and help you lead your life from a place of genuine self-compassion and balance.

This modality may help you unburden long-held emotional pain, restore a sense of internal leadership, and cultivate a deep feeling of wholeness. In our cooperative virtual or in-person space in Ontario, we work to heal the parts that feel overwhelmed, allowing your true self to emerge with clarity and resilience.

Sessions feel collaborative and non-pathologizing. You will be guided to focus inward at a pace that feels safe, identifying and listening to your internal parts to facilitate deep, lasting psychological healing and integration.

When Could IFS be Helpful?

Sometimes you can feel conflicted within yourself, one part wants to move forward while another feels afraid, another becomes critical, and another simply wants to shut down. Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps us become curious about these different parts rather than judging or fighting them. Together, we can understand what these parts are trying to protect, what they may be carrying, and create more space for a grounded sense of self to lead.

Creating a stronger sense of internal safety, balance, and choice

Rather than trying to get rid of the parts of yourself you struggle with, IFS invites you to understand them. With greater compassion and curiosity, you can begin to relate to yourself differently and create more room for choice, connection, and healing.
